Kariya paused by the famous statue of the dog, swinging himself up onto the statue's pedestal. He stood beside the dog, unafraid of being scolded; he wasn't real to them, after all. "HEY," the man bellowed, taking the lollipop from his mouth, "ANY PLAYERS HERE?" He needed a fairly good partner, someone that could help him breeze through the week, do most of the work and let him be the brains--unfortunately, that meant he'd be taking the lead. Which would mean actually working hard. Damn.

((Does Thrax get a magical cellphone?)) None of these people saw him, he couldn't even kill them. They passed by, and through, him as if he were nothing but air, he couldn't touch him, and he couldn't touch them. He heard a voice, some guy was screaming by, what looked like, a dog statue. Freak Thrax thought to himself, wondering when the cops were going to show up and chase him away. Nobody seemed to notice him, which was very odd, not one of them even cast a glance towards him. The virus had a hunch, and decided to see if it was right. He walked towards the guy, not completely sure if he was just like the others, blind and ignorant. "Well I guess you could call me a player, baby. There ain't enough chicks around here, though, none worth my time." He said casually, looking up at the guy on the statue.

((No idea. Sure, let's say he would. xD)) Kariya looked down, and his eyebrows shot up. This guy was weird-looking, even for Shibuya. Nevertheless, he chuckled and dropped back to the ground. "Not the kind of Player I was talking about, man. You got a partner yet?"
((Player and partner, harhar.))

((Okay, magic cell phone.)) Thrax held up his hands and backed up, "Whoa, baby, I don't roll like that." The phone in his trench coat buzzed again. He opened it, "It's the same damn message!" He closed it and put it back in, not sure why he kept it, the virus didn't understand what the phone was trying to tell him to do, so he'd been ignoring it. ((XD OMG I just had to do that, Thrax is jumping to conclusions!))

((That right there is EPIC WIN. XD))
Kariya snorted, almost choking on his lollipop. "Oh, zing. Ouch. You know what I meant. Let's do it, then." He stepped forward, holding out a hand to Thrax, trying to take his hand.
((They become partners by grabbing each others' hands and saying "I accept", then there's some flashes of light and their Souls get bonded or something. It's called making a Pact. x3))

"Okay, baby, but don't try anything on me." This freak seemed to know what was going on, so he didn't have any choice but to accept, he hadn't seen anyone else around that could actually notice him. He grabbed Kariya's hand with his right one, making sure not to scratch him.

"Wouldn't dream of it." Blue-white light blazed around them, filling their visions, and then Kariya pulled away from Thrax sharply. He was staring at Thrax's claws with undisguised surprise and curiosity, edged with alarm. "Whoa. What's with that, man?"

"Holy shit, that was messed up!" He didn't expect that touching this guy would cause the whole place to light up. "What's with what?" He realized that Kariya was talking about his claws. "They're my claws, baby, you got a problem with that?" The virus remembered bitterly about the police who where too stupid to realize they were biologically attached to him.

"...claws. Aight." Kariya raised an eyebrow at him, incredulous; apparently he'd paired up with a complete nutjob. "Look, man, I know what I'm doing, but I'm not used to being a Player. Either way, this should be simple enough. All I need is a partner that can carry his own weight, and we'll have plenty of fun together." He smirked. "The name's Koki Kariya. You?"

"The name's Thrax, baby." He wondered what the this guy was talking about. "Why do you keep talking about players? And what the hell is going on here? I died and now I'm stuck like this, and this damn phone won't stop ringing. If you know what you're doing, could you start by telling me what this is all about?"

((Oh, right. I forgot one key point--they lose the thing they cherish most as their 'entry fee'. I guess Kariya's would be... well, for now I'll follow my headcanon and go with 'ability to enjoy his life'. Thrax's would be his DNa chain, or ability to kill, maybe? Or, if the thing most important to him is himself, he'd lose his memories.))
Kariya paused, staggered for a moment, but shrugged it off quickly. The guy's entry fee was probably his memory--it wasn't unheard of--so he'd forgotten the imprinting. "This is the Reapers' Game, man. We're Players of the game; partners, now that we've made a pact." He shrugged. "All we gotta do is survive a week here in the UG dimension. We have to do missions that show up," he snagged his phone from his pocket and flipped it open, "as text messages. This says to get to 104, which is northwest of here. Coming?" He gestured back to the bustling scramble crossing.

(( Dammit! It would have been better if you told me earlier! >3<)) "That doesn't make any sense, but you're the expert." He was about to recoil his DNA chain around his right hand but he didn't feel anything. He always did it habitually, and didn't even have to look. "What the-?" Thrax looked at his wrist. The chain was gone. He hadn't remembered waking up with it, he had been to confused to do anything but walk around, let alone check if he had it. "God dammit! Where the hell is it?"

((Sorry! ;~; And I just realized I missed something else uber-important, too. Timers are supposed to appear on their hands. God, I'm so out of it today, I'm really sorry. I'll go edit my previous post now, to be thorough.))
"Something wrong?" Kariya glanced at Thrax's hand with him, skeptical. "Drop something?" He flexed his own right hand, glancing at the blood-red numbers that ticked away. "We've got forty-eight minutes left, so we should probably get a move on, if not."

"I lost my chain, I don't remember where I last saw it." Thrax didn't know how this could have happened, he never let it out of his sight. "You're going to help me find it, baby. I ain't going nowhere until I get it."

"If it's really that important, chances are it was your entry fee." Kariya smiled sympathetically to Thrax, though not with any real feeling. He twirled the lollipop against his lips carelessly. "To play the Game, you gotta give up what's most important to you. You don't get it back unless you win. Sucks, right?"
