"Either the Conductor or Composer--the head honchos--has full control over our mental states. We're in their world now." He smiled wryly. "It's sort of like imprinting the rules of the game into our heads, except... unconsciousness. Speaking of which," the Reaper cocked his head at Thrax, curious, "I wonder why the imprinting didn't work on you?"

He shrugged, "I dunno, baby. Maybe I'm in a different mental state than a human is." He was glad that the imprinting thing hadn't worked on him, that would be messed up, having someone stick stuff into your head.

((Blanking out now, then? -shrug-))
"Probably," he agreed absently, still leaning against the pole. "So, man, you don't gotta talk, but--" he laughed briefly, "--what's it like being a virus? Assuming I believe ya, which I guess I have to. Gotta trust your partner in this Game."

((*shrugs* I dunno whenever, does Thrax blank out too?))
That was an odd question, but he decided to just answer it to pass the time. "It's pretty fun, as long as you don't get caught. In every body I've been in, none of the cops had ever caught on to me before it's too late. The job difficulty depends on how old or how healthy the human is. Kids and old people are the easiest, but sometimes people don't take care of themselves and it don't matter how old they are. I guess you could say that it's fulfilling." It was pretty nice to watch the city burn after the hypothalamus had been compromised. "What's it like being a human?" The virus returned the question, no matter how many times he had infected someone, he could never really understand what a human's purpose in life was.

((Wow. Good question. 0_o Since I just made the cause of it up... I dunno. Maybe he doesn't blank out, but he gets teleported like the rest of them? I don't know what happens to them between days. To make things easier, maybe we should just say that it works on him. Maybe that's something the Composer controls, and he has absolute power, so...))
"Huh." Kariya nodded, surveying Thrax over the rims of his glasses. The guy was interesting, he had to give him that. "Being a human? I guess that ties in with 'what's the meaning of life', and no one can really seem to agree on that." He shrugged. "There are so many different kinds of people, and different kinds of places, it's hard to say. But for me, in the RG, stuff is good. Kind of boring--fighting for your life in the UG is much better--but I guess it's all about experiences. Meeting people, making memories, having a good time. That type of thing. Sorry, it's a hard thing to explain. Bet you'd say the same about what I asked you."
((Philosophical Kariya. =/))

((Philosophical Kariya makes me think... I HATE THINKING!DX Yeah, they probably just screwed up on Thrax in the beginning because he wasn't human, but now they figured out his mental state))
"Yeah, it's pretty hard to explain what it's like being a virus, but my purpose in life was clear from the moment I was born, baby." Humans wasted so much time wondering about their purpose, it was much more efficent if you knew exactly what you were supposed to do so you could get on it right away.

((They need to blank out so Joshua can tease Thrax again.))

((Lame day ending ahoy! Hey, Quill, since you're Joshua, you wanna do missions? :3))
"Yeah," agreed Kariya, "That would make things simpler." There was a few moments of silence, and then--
--he awoke in the West Exit Bus Terminal, an area of shops and buildings, with a bus station to the side. Kariya sighed and got up slowly, dusting himself off. A glance at his phone showed that the date had changed; it was Day Two. "This is gonna be a long week," muttered the ex-Reaper wearily, and fished through his pockets for his Player Pin--the pin that let a Player of the Game read minds in fragments and snippets. Even those who couldn't work most psychs could scan. He stood back to watch the crowd go by, mind-scanning absently, listening to the chatter of Shibuya as he waited for Thrax to wake up.

((Sure, as soon as Thrax wakes up I'll do the Joshua thing and give a mission.))

Thrax got up fluidly, cracking his neck and rollling his shoulders. Bastards They were messing with his head now, first they had taken his chain and now they were knocking him out. There was that timer on his hand again, he sighed. "What are we supposed to do now, baby?" He didn't bother to look at the phone, if Kariya knew what he was doing, he didn't have to worry about that.

There was a light jingling as Thrax stood, and a slight tightness around his right hand that had been missing the day before. His DNA chain was wrapped around his hand again. ((Joshua is a jerk. As soon as Thrax gets a closer look, it's going to vanish.))

Thrax looked at his hand, examing the chain, he grinned. "Well, looks like they decided to give it back early." The virus was still going to go through the game, having another chance to live, just to kill others, was too good to give up. Now at least he felt better about it, his chain helped to calm him down. ((Joshua likes pissing Thrax off, doesn't he?))

((Yes. Yes he does.))
Almost as soon as the words were out of Thrax's mouth, the chain uncoiled itself from his hand, falling to the ground. A pale hand flashed out, picking it up. "Sorry about that, I must have misplaced it." Joshua's eyes glittered mischeviously, almost maliciously. "No early returns, I'm afraid."

It was as if the chain had a mind of it's own, but even if it did, the chain would have known to remain with him. "Damn you!" Thrax tried once more to kill Joshua, he was messing with his head as if this was some sort of game. Then he remembered, this was a game to them. And he was one of the players, which made him angrier.

"Hm?" Kariya turned, hearing Thrax's voice. He was at his partner's side instantly, smirking, eyebrows raised. "Hey, it's you again. What would you be doing with this guy's entrance fee? You're definitely not Megs, and the Composer never actually shows up in the Game. You from another UG, kid?"
