After the recent incident on the c-box, I feel that it's time to lay down a new set of ground rules. The forum as evolved, so the rules must as well, so I am going to introduce a "behavior policy".
Obviously, if these rules are broken, there will be consequences. This is just a rough idea, punishments can and will be adjusted depending on the situation.
1. A verbal warning. We don't want fighting here, and you will be told that you are out of line and that you need to calm down. If the situation is not serious, you may or may not be given a second verbal warning. No one will ever give a third warning, because it should not be needed.
2. Multiple-day suspension. Depending on the situation, the suspension can vary from 2 days to a week. This can be extended or shortened depending on behavior.
3. Once the suspension runs out, you will be given a very clear warning, and be issued a high warning level. This means that me and Kanna will be keeping a close watch on you, and that you have lost priveleges to punishments 1 and 2.
4. If you break the rules again, your account will be deleted and your IP address banned, meaning you cannot create another account here. This is the absolute extreme, and I hope I never have to do this to anyone, but if you can't follow these simple, common sense rules, then you do not deserve an account here. If you are found pressuring a member for an address or number, you will jump automatically to this step, no warnings issued.
- No excess swearing anywhere on the forum. The c-box is for chatting. This can be about your day, about something funny that happened to you, that your mother is dragging you offline, maybe a little chatplay now and then. Notice that there is a censor on the c-box that is not present in the rest of the forum. Swearing is one thing. Dropping a cluster f-bomb is not acceptable. I don't care how mad you are, entries in the c-box should be made up of letters, not asterisks.
- Don't be a jerk. The forum is a place for friends to gather and have fun together. If you're having an off day, post it in our rant forum, or, if you don't feel comfortable doing that, PM either me (I consider myself good at giving friendly advice) or Zach, who is studying to be a psychologist. You can be upset. This is not an excuse for you to lash out and unfairly attack other forum members who only want to help. If you end up causing any member to be upset, you WILL be banned. (see Punishment below)
- If it's rated R, keep it PM. As far as I know, the youngest members here are around 13 years old. I understand that this is the internet, and being 13 means you could be looking up porn in your spare time, but that is not the case here. If you're going to have characters have sex, do it over PM. I don't want to see that nasty junk on the c-box, or on a public thread where everyone can read it. What happens in the bedroom (or on tables) stays in PMs.
- No flirting, publicly or privately. Now I would hope this never happens on my forum, but it's here anyway. NOBODY here is going to leave their home state to meet with someone their not even sure is their age and the opposite gender. Don't flirt, don't ask for addresses, and don't ask for phone numbers. Yes, I KNOW that me, Zach, Kanna, and Max all have each others' numbers. This is because this rule was not officially in place then. If you are caught attempting to get an address or phone number, your account will be deleted. No exceptions.
