Also applicable to Damon, but I'm using Xypher just 'cause he has a physical body. The girl is Alaine, a catgirl (not a 9-Life) who Xypher cursed and killed centuries ago.
Alaine stepped into the huge cavern of a room, swallowing. "H-Hello?" she called uncertainly.
"Welcome." Alaine yelped and jumped back, eyes wide. She looked up at the pale, handsome man, at his hypnotic golden eyes.
"Wh-who...?" she breathed, trailing off as she gazed deep into his eyes. Xypher smiled, golden eyes glowing in the dim light.
"When the Devil is too busy, and Death's a bit too much, they call on me, by name you see, for my special touch." He brushed a gentle hand under Alaine's chin, smiling. "To the gentlemen, I'm misfortune. To the ladies I'm surprise. But call me by any name...anyway it's all the same..."
He straightened up, his grin becoming decidedly less pleasant. Alaine pressed herself against the wall, watching in fear.
"I'm the fly in your soup, I'm the pebble in your shoe, I'm the pea beneath your bed, I'm the bump on every head, I'm the peel on which you slip, I'm a pin in every hip, I'm the thorn in your side, makes you wriggle and write!" He turned, grinning at her. "And it's so easy when you're evil! This is the life you see- the Devil tips his hat to me!" He chuckled, running a hand through Alaine's hair in an almost soothing gesture. "I do it all because I'm evil, and I do it all for free! Your tears are all the pay I'll ever need!"
He pressed his thumbnail to the corner of Alaine's eye and she whimpered, tears springing unwillingly to her eyes. Xypher grinned hungrily.
"While there's children to make sad, while there's candy to be had, while there's pockets left to pick, while there's grannies to make trip down the stairs, I'll be there- I'll be waiting round the corner! It's a game, I'm glad I'm in it, 'cause there's one born every minute!" He chuckled. "And it's so easy when you're evil! This is the life you see; the Devil tips his hat to me! I do it all because I'm evil, and I do it all for free!" Alaine sobbed despite herself, and Xypher laughed. "Your tears are all the pay I'll ever need!"
His grin became more crazed, and he ran a gentle hand over Alaine's cheek, laughing quietly. "I pledge my allegience to all things dark and I promise on my damned soul to do as I am told. Lord Beelzebub has never seen a soldier quite like me- not only does his job but does it happily!" He pressed his hand to Alaine's temple, and she cried out as the images flooded her mind.
"I'm the fear that keeps you 'wake, I'm the shadows on the wall, I'm the monsters they've become, I'm the nightmare in your skull! I'm a dagger in your back, an extra turn on the rack, I'm the quivering of your heart- a stabbing pain, a sudden start..." Alaine fell to her knees, sobbing openly, fearfully. "And it's so easy when you're evil! This is the life you see- the Devil tips his hat to me! I do it all because I'm evil, and I do it all for free! Your tears are all the pay I'll ever need!" He stepped forward, a few of Alaine's fearful tears landing on his finger. "And I do it all for free; your tears are all the pay I'll ever need!" He held his finger to his lips, touching his tongue to the salty tears clinging to it. "And I do it all for free," he murmured, voice low and smooth, "your tears are all the pay I'll ever need."
He paused, lowering his hand, looking past Alaine almost wistfully. "It gets so lonely...being evil..." he murmured, sighing quietly. Alaine blinked, confused by the sudden change. "What I'd do to see a smile...even for a little while..." Alaine moved towards him, showing a shy smile. Xypher didn't seem to see. "And no one loves you when you're evil..." he sighed. Taking a chance, Alaine wrapped her arms around the man's waist. Xypher blinked, surprised by the gesture. He smiled softly.
Alaine gasped, her breath catching. Xypher pulled the sword free of the catgirl's bleeding form, wiping it on his pants. He wiped a few stray tears from her eyes and grinned cruelly.
"I'm lying through my teeth! Your tears are all the company I need!"
