So, now that we've got four forum members reading Homestuck (myself, Murray, Brittany, Zach) we can start a real Homestuck rp.
We ourselves will be the four players of SBURB (no Clidef, sorry), and we can bring in some trolls as well. We can discuss whether style should be traditional roleplay, or a command parser with some regular stuff thrown in for lack of pictures.
All characters will need:
Name: chumhandle/trolltag: Title: (see below) Modus: (explain) Strife specibus: xkind Land: Land of ___ and ___ (LO_A_) Two items, not necessarily related, relating your your inner psyche, typically one or two syllables per word. Consort: Must be amphibious or reptilian
Discuss chumhandle theme (we must use two letters to make them, like in Homestuck, where they used T and G).
Notes about Titles: I researched them. The wiki was frustratingly unhelpful aside from speculation.
Speculation due to a comment from future!Dave says that a game cannot be completed with a dead Heir and Witch, and there's arguments over whether he means the Heir and Witch are crucial to game, or it can't be completed with dead players at all. To be on the safe side, we will be using the suffixes of Heir, Knight, Seer, and Witch. Popular theory states that the one who possessed the "Space" element is the one whose land contains the game's Forge, so that is also a requirement for our game. Also, the title is not what most suits you. Your title is meant to be something you are not comfortable with, and to challenge you. For example, John, who resents his father, is given the title of Heir.
So, to clarify: Titles: Heir of _____, Knight of _____, Seer of _____, Witch of ____ Available elements: Space, Breath, Light, Time, Doom, Blood, Heart, Mind, Void, Hope, Life
I'll post my own stuff and leave some blank until it's been discussed. Name: Cayley Smith chumhandle: Title: Modus: Color Wheel Modus- Every captchalogued item is assigned a random color- blue, red, yellow, or purple on a color wheel. Only items of a selected color can be used. When an item is used, the wheel turns one notch, to the next color. Purple items can be used once at any time, then the color becomes unavailable until the wheel has made one full circuit. Strife specibus: Keybladekind Land: Land of Thoughts and Mist (LOTAM) Consorts: Snakes

Name: Murray G. E. Murphy chumhandle/trolltag: Title: Modus: Bottleneck modus: Organised into layers in an upsidedown triangle shape. The bottom layer has 1 card, and every layer above it must have twice as many cards. Items can be placed into any card, but can only be taken out from the card in the bottom layer. When an item is taken from the bottom, the two cards above that card will both put their item into it. Difficult to use due to its ability to stick multiple items in one card, but easy to weaponise for the same. I have 7 cards. Coolest story the internet ever told.

Name: Zach Burch
chumhandle: Howling Arcana [HA]
Title: Heir of Space
Modus: Tarot- A modus containing only five cards. The very first time it is used, the first card is set aside, and allocated as 0, The Fool. This card, for the time being, cannot be accessed or emptied. This effectively shortens the useable deck to only 4 cards. From that point on, cards added to the sylladex will be assigned to the Sword, Wand, Pentacle, and Cup suits, in that order, i.e. card one is sword, two is wand, etc. When the four cards are filled up, the next card, being allocated to the sword suit, will clear out the previous sword card. After three of these rotations (i.e. 12 cards) the next card picked up (i.e. 13th) will replace The Fool, and be designated The Magician. Three more cycles, and The Magician is replaced with The Priestess, then the Empress, The Emperor, and, finally, back to The Fool. The cards that can be selected from the sylladex depend on what arcana is currently presiding over it. If The Fool is up, any suit card can be selected. If The Magician is up, only The Magician and the sword card can be used. The Priestess allows only herself and wands, Empress is the same with pentacles, and the Emperor allows for himself and cups. A relatively easy modus to use at first, it, like actual fortune telling, gets less effective the more it is used. Pretty easy to weaponize, though, since only 4 cards are avaliable for use at any given time.
Strife specibus: Cardkind (In this case, an actual deck of Tarot cards, seperate from the Tarot modus. They can either be used as throwing weapons or drawn to activate a variety of positive/negative effects. [only major arcana cards are used])
Land: Land of Storm and Sanctuary (LOSAS)
Consorts: Toads

Name: Brittany Czapala
chumhandle/trolltag: teatimeSerenade [TS]
Title: Seer of Breath
Modus: DDR modus- If you've never heard of or played Dance Dance Revolution, shame on you, it is fun. Anyway, that's basically what it's based off of. There is a pad with up, right, down, and left arrows (in order clockwise). The cards are stacked and randomly assigned to whichever arrow. In order to retrieve the cards, a bar with arrows in order of left, up, down, and right is above the pad and the cards float up to the bar and I have to dance on the pad and hit the arrow in time to retrieve the card. If it is not the card I want, I leave it be and it goes back to be placed randomly yet again. Pretty simple.
Strife specibus: Paintbrushkind
Land: Land of Cyclones and Nature (LOCAN)
Consort: Iguanas

Because of the whole 'meteors take out several blocks' thing, we (by which I mean, everyone but me) should probably have our houses spaced out a bit.
Anyway, as for titles and handles.
What title I should take...
Knight: I'm not very active, chivalrous, or strong, so being a Knight would be hard for me.
Heir: My family has been in the medical business for a while, but I plan on deviating from this, making an heir non-suiting.
Seer: My foresight is generally lacking, and when I do have a good idea of the future, I'm in no way able to do anything about it. I guess knowing the future but not being able to change it is pretty cool.
Witch: I like fantasy, and a Wii-remote in my specibus could be turned into some kind of wand. Ultimately this won't work so well to challenge me, though it does suit me - perhaps 'warlock' could be used for male witches.
of...
Space: I'm pretty sure that the Land of Teams and Fruit isn't the best place for the forge.
Breath: Wind powers are cool, and my favorite game is Wind Waker... I'll consider it.
Light: Light sucks. I mean, you could use it for illusions I guess, and that would fit my deceptive personality...
Time: Everyone wants to be the ____ of Time. But I don't think I would personally be good at Time Travel, and I'd create thousands of broken loops.
Blood: No.
Heart: No.
Mind: This suits me, as I'm not very emotional and quite analytical. I'm a good thinker, but that's not what this title is about.
Void: I don't know what this title even does.
Hope: In my Land, this would be pretty fitting, since Titles and Lands are seemingly related.
Life: I don't trust myself enough to be the anything of life.
Warlock of Breath/Knight of Hope are the titles I'd like.
---
We need a Prince and Princess of the Moons. Zach, you can pick which moon you want to be on first.
---
Also: Can we somehow omit parents from this? Y'know, never mention them once, and have our characters living alone.

Clarifying some things I thought of over the course of the day. Again, titles are supposed to be something that does not fit, in order to challenge you. Here are the working titles I've come up with- Cayley- Witch of Time Brittany- Seer of (Light?) (Breath?) Zach- Heir of Space Murray- Knight of (Light?) (Breath?)
Also, I've decided the dreamselves, I thought it was pretty obvious though. Cayley- Prospit dreamer Brittany- Prospit dreamer Zach- Derse dreamer Murray- (by process of elimination) Derse dreamer
Setting (in relation to Homestuck): Alternate Earth, possibly a splintered timeline from the moment the paradox slime babies were sent back, post-SBURB Alternia. The Zodiac trolls have, for reasons unknown, abandoned their base on the asteroid in the Outer Ring, leaving behind all their equipment. Upon the activation of another game of SBURB- ours- the equipment locks onto the four of us and our timelines. Our trolls, having escaped the Big Glub and taking shelter on the asteroid, find the equipment, and contact us. As time goes on, the trolls begin to uncover the history of the first SBURB game and of SGRUB and gradually open up and relay this information to us in an effort to ensure we win our own session. The trolls themselves never took part in SGRUB, and as such have no titles, no sprites, no dreamselves, and no god-tiers. Their lusus may be dead or alive, with them, or abandoned back on Alternia. We, the players, have parents, but for various reasons are left alone (possibly set during summer vacation where, by coincidence, we've all been left by parents who have gone on trips). And yes, we do have parents, I refuse to accept the fact that I'm made from paradox slime.
And our Forge is located in the woods behind Zach's house...somehow.
