So... this is where Quill and I are undertaking one of the most difficult and vile jobs any fanfic writer can imagine... we are going to re-do Twilight.
However, that by itself would be too easy... so we have to follow certain... rules.
1. The story itself cannot be changed. All major events must remain, and no new major events can be added. Minor things may be added/subtracted, but they cannot affect the story overall. Also, the chapters must follow the same structure as the ones in the actual book.
2. All Twi-physics (oxymoron) must remain in play. For example, the vampires have to react to sunlight, Alice must have futuresight, etc.
3. Appearances cannot be changed.
4. All purple prose must be taken out DESTROYED KILLED WITH FIRE AND HOLY WATER.
and 5. All characters must, somehow, be made into realistic, sympathetic characters, NOT mary sues/marty stus. As such, personalities will... most likely have to be fabricated. This is allowed.
Overall, it's just a rewrite of the series, but a challenge to see if Quill and I (and anyone else who wants to give it a crack, I guess...) can actually make Twilight really GOOD.
...wish us luck. XD

Project: Twilight Preface
You know, I’ve never considered myself a martyr. Life was something I tried to embrace, to live to the fullest… but now, at the end, I couldn’t bring myself to regret the choices that had led me here. The love of my life was safe… at least, I hoped he was. If my death would keep he and his family safe… then who was I to complain? I would lose my future, true… but if it was me or him… well, I guess I was making the right choice. From across the room, the hunter stared at me, a bemused expression on his hateful face. “You really aren’t making this easy on yourself, you know.” He said, mild disdain in his voice. “I could have made it quick… if only you’d done as I asked.” I said nothing. I was terrified… but resolute. If I was going out, I was doing it with dignity. Edward wouldn’t see me break. I allowed an expression of pure hate to smear my face. “Scary.” He said, standing and slowly walking towards me. I could hear the blood pounding in my ears. I wanted to scream, to beg for my life… but I wasn’t about to give this bastard the satisfaction. He leaned down to my level, his dark eyes staring directly into mine, scouring for any sign of weakness. “Such a pity… I was really hoping you’d be more fun than this.” With eyes as hard and cold as stone, I looked up and spat in his face.
